Introduction
This five-day course teaches practical English used across civil aviation. It covers ICAO standard phraseology and plain-language skills for routine, non-routine and emergency communications. Participants practise real radio exchanges, readback/hearback techniques and coordination between flight crew, ATC and ground teams. The focus is on clarity, accuracy and compliance with ICAO language descriptors.
Objectives
2. Perform accurate readbacks and hearbacks to confirm instructions and reduce misunderstandings.
3. Switch to structured plain language and checklist-driven communication during non-routine and emergency events.
4. Write and interpret concise operational texts such as NOTAMs, flight-plan entries and incident reports.
5. Assess personal English proficiency against ICAO descriptors and create a targeted improvement plan.

- All training sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday, following the standard working week observed in the United Kingdom and European Union. Saturday and Sunday are official weekends and are not counted as part of the course duration.
